Homework clarification

Today the students received their first homework assignments. Included in their orange homework folders were a reading log, students should be reading 20 minutes per night, math facts practice log (5-10 minutes per night) and an activity to follow up with out story, Chrysanthemum. Remember, homework is not due back until Friday, unless it is a math activity. I will be reviewing the homework policy during open house.

Math fact practice can be anything from practicing 10's friends to playing a fact game on the computer. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding homework! Have a great night!

Great First Day!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful first day of school!  The day flew by and we have so much more to do tomorrow!!!  The emergency cards did not go home today but they will be coming soon, so please look for them.  I will be revamping the blog for 3rd grade so bear with me while everything gets updated! I enjoyed meeting everyone today and we will see you in the morning!!

Welcome to 3rd Grade!!

Welcome to 3rd grade! It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself. My name is Lisa Kiernan and I will be your child's 3rd grade teacher. On the first day of school I will send home a welcome folder with information on myself, the classroom, and some upcoming activities we will work on as a class.  Please review this folder with your child as some of the class policies are located inside.

             Take a few minutes to tour the class blog page.  I will utilize this blog to keep families updated on the weekly happenings in 3rd grade as well as activities we do in class, homework assignments and helpful tips to parents.  I look forward to meeting you at open house.  If you have any questions prior to that please do not hesitate to contact me.  I'm excited about the opportunity to get to know you and your child and I"m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.
